PLEASE SEE MY NEW WEBSITE @ WWW.APTUTORING.NET
Subjects: Math - Pre-Algebra, Algebra I and II, Geometry, Trigonometry Pre-Calculus, Calculus I & II, Statistics.
Physics - General high school physics, general college physics (first three semesters).
Chemistry - High school chemistry. First semester college chemistry.
Exams - SAT, PSAT, AP Calculus, AP Physics, GMAT, GRE.
Music - Violin and Viola (over 12 years experience in numerous classical and local music groups).
Tutoring Philosophy: I truly believe everyone is capable of doing well in math and science, but every student needs at least some positive reinforcement. My approach to most sessions is to assess the student's progress and help deepen their understanding by going over relevant examples. I nearly always give relavant problems for the student also to go over in preparation for future sessions. My goal as a tutor is to help the student realize their potential and achieve the grades they deserve knowing that they have someone experienced supporting them. Having worked hard for my good grades, it means a lot to me personally to see students (young and old) excel in math and science. I take my tutees' grades personally and work hard to equip them with skills necessary to help them confidently meet future challenges. Although I enjoy working with students of all ages, I have a special interest in younger students as I feel that there is a real need to supplement the math and science instruction at many schools. Large class sizes can inadvertently leave a student behind and having some private instruction can be a real boost to the student's grades and confidence.
What are my qualifications?
Rates: Although I have worked for 'professional' tutoring companies, as a private tutor, I do my best to keep my rates lower than local and online organizations while accounting for travel time and expenses. If I tutor by email or online (free service by Skype), I am able to offer even lower rates. I charge the same for test prep (ACT, SAT, MCAT, etc.) as I do for regular tutoring which is not true for your average tutor or tutoring company. Feel free to email me regarding any questions you may have in this area.
